The Prometheus Cave, Kumistavi in the Imereti region of Georgia

The Prometheus Cave is the new commercial name of the Kumistavi cave, located near the town of Tskaltubo, in 23 kilometers from Kutaisi.

There is a network of caves with a lot of turns, rivers and underground halls. A trail about one and a half kilometers long is open for tourists. The cave is illuminated with multicolored lights, while classical music is playing in the background. Tourists can also see some bats under the ceiling of the caves.

In the last accessible hall, tourists can take a boat and sail to the exit from the cave. It's possible to get to the Prometheus cave by two shuttles from Kutaisi (transfer at Tskaltubo) or by taxi.
